Available from May 2008, Casa Luzia is a luxurious 4 bedroom open-plan villa on the edge of Tavira town, one of the most attractive and unspoiled towns in the Algarve. Situated in a quiet area, this stunning property offers very comfortable and tasteful furnishings, and benefits from air conditioning throughout the house, as well as a wood-burning stove and under-floor heating for the cooler months. Three of the four bedrooms are en-suite while the fourth has an adjacent bathroom. There is one double bedroom and three twin bedrooms - a cot is available. The living room has three sofas and Sky TV, while the dining table seats eight guests. French doors lead out onto the cool, covered terrace with stunning views of the Ria Formosa Reserve where you can dine al fresco or enjoy a refreshing drink. ...flowerbeds and fruit trees. This area has ample sun beds and umbrellas and of course a bar-b-q for outdoor cooking. Alternatively, there are also two more terraces upstairs with table and chairs. A mini market, restaurant and bar are within walking distance. The villa is 3 minutes drive from the beautiful centre of Tavira which offers larger supermarkets and larger choice of riverside bars and restaurants. A car is recommended but not essential as taxis are cheap and there is a bus service. Private parking is available. A welcome pack is provided to help you settle in and there are CD’s, DVD’s and books provided for your enjoyment. The property is fully cleaned weekly with linen and towels changed. Also, the pool and garden are tended weekly.
Relax in Stunning Tavira and Other Activities
Tavira is a charming, historic town with something for everyone. There are many shops, restaurants and bars. Sit at the market square sipping a glass of wine facing out on the river and watch the world go by. Take a walk around this beautiful town and visit the castle and some of the old churches. The Ria Formosa Nature Reserve is a paradise for walkers and bird watchers alike. For people who prefer a little more strenuous exercise there is also a local Kite-Surfing school, horse riding, tennis and many mountain bike trails. Boats leave the pier for deep-sea fishing all along the Algarve Coast and Jeep safari and boat trips up the Guadiana River can be arranged locally or if you prefer your entertainment a little more high-octane then there are several water parks within easy driving distance. The Spanish border is 20 minutes away, while Seville is 90 minutes drive or a little longer by the twice daily express bus. An excellent commuter train service connects all the coastal towns of the Algarve with a frequency of 1 train per hour during the day and connects Tavira with the twice daily Faro-Lisbon express.
Just a short drive from the villa you can enjoy some of the best beaches on the Algarve which are rarely crowded even in the height of summer. The extensive sandy beach at Manta Rota is highly recommended. Tavira's main beach lies past the salt pans, and is accessible by regular ferries, which take visitors to the 11km of beaches of Ilha de Tavira, where the vast tracts of sand provide an idyllic spot to sunbathe and relax. The wide, safe and clean sandy beach is one of Tavira's key features, with restaurants and beach bars. In Summer, there are water-sports and the sea is warm and clear.
Benamor Golf course is literally a couple of minutes away. Other courses within a very short drive from the Villa include Quinta da Ria / Quinta de Cima and Castro Marim, as well as the exclusive Monte Rei course designed by Jack Nichlaus. Seve Ballesteros has just opened a highly-rated course at Quinta do Vale and a 45 minute drive to the Quinta do Lago area takes you to some of Europeas top courses. Alternatively there are a number of courses just over the border in Spain.
