The Kerry Region

The location of the house is beautiful with spectacular views of the North Kerry and Clare coastlines. The house is also within a 5 minute drive of two quiet, unspoilt beaches in one direction and in the opposite direction, a 10 minute drive to Ballybunion town, with its beaches, cliff walks, golf courses, public leisure centre and a number of good restaurants and a supermarket.
Other amenities in the local area include horse riding and a cliff walk.
Ballybunion’s two golf courses are recognised as being among the best in the country. The Old Course has been on the list of the top 10 links courses in the world and is a hugely popular golfing destination. Other popular courses in the county are Tralee, Killarney and Waterville, alll of which are easily reachable from Liosdoire Holiday home.

Wild Atlantic Way

Wild, rugged, unspoilt and untamed, where land and sea collide, this is Ireland's last frontier against the power of the Atlantic. Set to be the longest defined coastal touring route in the world, the Wild Atlantic Way was officially launched in March 2014, to promote the stunning coastal environment and natural landscape along its 2,400km route.
The Wild Atlantic Way will attract many thousands of visitors from all over the world as they embark on an incredible route that has been shaped and inspired by the invading sea and rugged land. The starting point of this journey is Kinsale, from where you will take in the stunning West Cork and Kerry coastline, following north up the western seaboard and finishing in Inishowen, Co.Donegal (or vice versa!).
Signposting along the route into ballybunion is now completed so that tourists can also enjoy this slice of paradise in North Kerry. But no matter which location you start from, the Wild Atlantic Way is sure to have you wanting to return to Ireland again and again.

Bromore Cliff Top Walk

Coming in to Ballybunion along the south trail of The Wild Atlantic Way, you can't miss the Bromore Cliffs. This area of scenic beauty is also included in The Lower Shannon SAC

Surfing in Ballybunion
For the last 20 years Ballybunion's South beach (Men's beach) has been recognized as one of North Kerry's best surfing locations.

The Health & Leisure Centre was opened in 2007 and features a state-of-the-art gym, exercise rooms, a choice of three heated swimming pools for toddlers, children and adults

The Ballybunion beach walk is an easy 2 hour walk along both the stunning sandy north and south beaches of Ballybunion and along the world famous Ballybunion Links Golf Course.

Lahardane Hill Loop Walk
The Lahardane Hill Loop Walk is a moderate, 8 km loop walk (should take about 1.5 hours) to Lahardane Hill on the slopes of Knockanore Mountain (267 m high) to the east of Ballybunion village
Beale beach
Situated at the mouth of the Shannon this sand and rocky beach stretches over 3 km around the ‘dog-leg’ of the estuary. Extensive and high dune landscape dominates the bend in the Estuary and the beach provides long walking opportunities around the headland.

Seaweed baths have been popular in Ireland since Edwardian times. In Ballybunion, Collins’s Hot Seaweed Baths (established in 1932) is situated on the Ladies Strand

A fly-past along the coast towards Ballybunion which shows Bromore Cliffs, Nun's Beach, Ballybunion's Ladies and Men's Beach and then out past the two Ballybunion golf courses towards the mouth of the River Feale. This was filmed from 1,500 feet on the 2nd August 2014
