The pretty landscaped area has a paved path leading from the parking area to Domus Iberica Bloco F, and the ground floor apartment in this 2-storey apartment building has intercom entry and full air conditioning. The decor throughout the apartment is light and calm with mostly white furnishings with some pops of vivid colour adding interest and style. The separate kitchen on the left of the central corridor, has a door to a small railed area with a delightful countryside view. The kitchen is very well-equipped with electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave, electric kettle, toaster, Delta coffee maker, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge/freezer as well as ample crockery, pots and pans. The charming living area has a dining table with seating for four, and a matching sideboard and the lounge area has two comfortable couches and a Sony TV, DVD Player and a drawer full of DVDs, and doors ...
...from here lead to the spacious veranda with a table and four chairs to enjoy the views of the green area at the rear. The spacious Master Bedroom has a 5 ft bed, matching lockers, a large built-in wardrobe with a safe and doors to the main veranda, and its en-suite bathroom with shower, a bidet, toilet and hand basin. The Twin Bedroom has built-in wardrobes and a small veranda with a view the countryside at the rear. The Main Bathroom has a shower enclosure, toilet and hand basin and is located opposite the twin bedroom and next to the living area. The nearest restaurant is about 2 minutes’ walk, and the many village restaurants are all within walking distance. The Blue Flag Beach is 10 minutes walk away, and the Coastal Path is just a few minutes walk from the apartment, a rough path which meanders along the coast for miles and miles, over clifftops, across beaches, with stunning sea and nature views. However if you decide to hire a car you will have the chance to see the wonderful coastline to the west with beautiful sandy coves and beaches, pretty fishing villages and some brilliant little restaurants serving delicious fresh local fish, meats and wines. The Algarve is a year-round destination, and many visitors prefer to go there in spring or winter, when the sunshine is still warm, longer days than in Northern Europe and there are a few less people about!
Summers are hot, but the humidity is tempered by gentle sea breezes and winter days are usually sunny and warm with cooler nights.
Burgau is an hour's drive from Faro Airport, mostly on the A22 motorway. While a car is not necessary, if you decide to hire one you can tear yourself away from the beach and explore the amazing variety of flora, fauna and scenic beauty of the surrounding Parque Natural of the Western Algarve which has an abundance of beautiful, unspoilt, sandy beaches and coves protected by dramatic cliffs.
A day trip to the spa town of Monchique to the North is a treat with lots of local foods, drinks and crafts to sample and buy, and from Monchique Mountains there are panoramic views of the whole South Western coastline and Atlantic Ocean. From Monchique travel to Arrifana on the West coast and marvel at the towering, sheer cliffs battered by Atlantic waves when taking the coastal route south to Cape St. Vincent.
The regional capital of Lagos has lots of shops and restaurants lining its historic winding streets and a large yacht marina from where you can take boat trips for fishing, visiting coastal caves and grottoes and dolphin watching. You can swim with tame dolphins at ZooMarine, or have a day's fun at the water parks near Albufeira.
This is the quieter, more scenic part of the Algarve where you can escape the cares and stresses of life and indulge in the wonderful foods, genuine friendliness of the people and the slower pace of life.
You can look for bargains at the small daily morning market on your way to the beach which is at the bottom of a narrow cobbled street lined with small shops and cafes. The Beach Bar has great food and is perfect to quench you thirst, gaze out to sea or have a chat in the shade.
In summer there is a regular local bus service to Lagos, Luz and other beaches and there is a wide variety of sports available in the area including tennis, squash, swimming lessons, watersports, soccer and horse riding.
The Algarve is one of Europe's major destinations for Golf, and there is a large choice of superb courses. The newly opened Espiche Golf Course has very competitive rates and within 15 minutes drive as are Parque da Floresta and Boa Vista Golf. Palmares Links and Penina Golf are also nearby. All courses welcome visitors and normal golf etiquette applies.
Nearest Airport is Faro Airport, a 1-hour drive to the apartment.
Lisbon Airport is a 3 hour drive.
If you do not wish to drive we can help with Private Transfers from Faro airport to front door (Euro 175 return for 4 persons) or a reasonably priced car hire which gives you the chance to explore.
