Tavira is a lovely cobbled street town with many churches based in the unspoilt Eastern Algarve. The amazing beach of Ilha de Tavira is an experience not to be missed. Being only 20 minutes from Spain and with 6 golf courses. Fabricia and Cacelha Vela are not to be missed with views over Tavira Island and down to Spain. The Ria Formosa protected natural park is home to Flamingos and many species of wild life and birds with the salt pans still producing salt today. Fresh fish, cockles and Octopus in abundance.

Leave Faro Airport on the main dual carriageway.
Fastest route motorway: tolls approx. €4 charge
Follow signs for S.Bras/S.Bras de Alportel N2.
Take the 3rd slip road sign post N2 Faro/S.B Alportel.
Turning left at the roundabout and heading straight.
You are now heading towards the motorway A22 and ESPHANA.
2 sets of traffic lights when you see the junction on your right for S. Bras you will be taking the next right slip road to the motorway A22 signpost for Esphana.
After the motorway services you will be taking the next exit signpost Tavira. (It is only 2 junctions: Junction 16)
After leaving the motorway follow the signs for Tavira:
Straight on at the 1st roundabout (2nd exit)
2nd roundabout (has a bronze statue of a yacht) take 3rd exit signpost Vila Real De St Antonio. N125.
Over the river bridge, on your right you will see a Honda Dealership (swimming pools, tractors and mowers) and immediately after, which is the 3rd left turning after the bridge (2nd left is a dead end), take the road signpost PEGADA /MARLIN.
Follow the road round and take the 2nd on the right "Pegada" go right at the small roundabout and straight ahead until you reach a no entry sign turn right and we are number 5 on the right

If you prefer not to take the motorway or miss the N2 turn off: (add extra 30/45 minutes)
Carry on the dual carriage way to Olhao and just keep going straight on EN125.
You will go through Alfandanga and Luz de Tavira.
When you see Galp stations on both right and left you are in Tavira.

Straight at the sail roundabout following signs for V. Real De S. Antonio.
